Kuwait dissolves six civil associations over compliance issues
Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah has issued decisions dissolving six civil associations as part of the ministry’s ongoing review and assessment of public benefit associations and their compliance with regulations and bylaws governing their activities.
The decisions also suspend the boards of directors and employees of the associations from disposing of their funds and documents.
The Ministry of Social Affairs will directly oversee the liquidation procedures in accordance with the law.
The ministry stressed that it will continue to monitor and evaluate civil associations to ensure compliance with the applicable laws, regulations and governing bylaws.
The move comes as part of efforts to strengthen oversight of civil society organizations and ensure that their financial and administrative activities comply with legal requirements.
