Kuwait dismantles int’l gambling network; intensified security drive results in multiple arrests

Campaigns are part of a comprehensive strategy to safeguard public security, protect road users, and strengthen the rule of law

As part of its ongoing efforts to uphold security and enforce the law, the Ministry of Interior carried out a series of large-scale campaigns over the weekend.

In Sabah Al-Salem, Acting Undersecretary Major General Ali Al-Adwani supervised a traffic security operation using modern technologies to track down violators, reports Al-Jarida daily

The campaign led to the arrest of residency and labor laws violators. This is in addition to violators of traffic laws.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Security Affairs Sector spearheaded a wide-ranging campaign in Al-Dajeej, the Farwaniya Governorate in coordination with the Kuwait Fire Force, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Kuwait Municipality, and the Public Authority for Manpower. The effort resulted in the arrest of 47 violators of labor law and the issuance of 234 citations.

In other news, the General Department of Criminal Investigations in the Hawalli Governorate dismantled an international gambling network and arrested seven people — six Egyptians and a Syrian.

The group was running electronic gambling platforms and laundering the proceeds through front companies and illegal transfers. The investigations revealed that money — averaging 25,000 dinars per transaction — were funneled from abroad via an intermediary in Turkey and reintroduced into Kuwait through unofficial channels before being distributed in cash.

The Ministry of Interior affirmed that these campaigns, directed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef and closely supervised by Major General Al-Adwani, are part of its comprehensive strategy to safeguard public security, protect road users, and strengthen the rule of law.
