Kuwait has strongly condemned the Iranian attack targeting a tanker belonging to the UAE’s ADNOC while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, describing the incident as a flagrant violation of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that the attack poses a direct threat to the security of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.
Kuwait called for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions and urged full adherence to international law and the principles guaranteeing freedom of navigation.
The ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm rejection of any attacks threatening the safety of maritime navigation and expressed full solidarity with the UAE, supporting all measures taken by Abu Dhabi to safeguard its sovereignty, security and interests.
