Kuwait Cybersecurity Center deals with threats targeting Kuwait’s digital systems

Engineer Abeer Al-Awadhi, head of the National Cybersecurity Center, confirmed on Thursday that the center has recently detected a number of cyber activities and threats targeting some digital systems in the country under the current
circumstances.

In a statement to KUNA, Al-Awadhi said these attempts were dealt with immediately in accordance with approved protocols and procedures, reflecting the center’s readiness to confront cyber threats and strengthen the stability of digital systems.

She explained that the center’s monitoring and follow-up system was able to detect these attempts early, after which technical teams took immediate measures to contain them efficiently, without affecting the continuity of services or the country’s vital digital infrastructure.

She added that the National Cybersecurity Center continues its ongoing efforts to monitor the national cyberspace using advanced systems and technologies to detect and analyze threats and address them proactively.

She noted that the center’s specialized teams possess the necessary technical readiness and work around the clock to monitor developments in cyberspace. She affirmed that the center coordinates with government entities and vital facilities in the country to ensure the highest levels of protection and rapid response to any emergency.

Al-Awadhi called on citizens and residents to verify information and obtain it from approved official sources, and not to pay attention to rumors or unreliable news circulating on social media platforms. She stressed that public awareness and cooperation with relevant authorities is an important pillar in strengthening the cybersecurity system.

She said that the National Cybersecurity Center will continue performing its national role in protecting cyberspace in the State of Kuwait and ensuring the stability and continuity of digital services, thereby strengthening trust and security in the country’s digital environment. – KUNA
