Kuwait customs reaffirms commitment to combating drug threats

The General Administration of Customs reiterated its steadfast commitment to protecting the society from the dangers of drugs by intensifying efforts across all border crossings and ports to ensure and intercept the flow of any substances that threaten national security.

In a statement issued yesterday to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the administration emphasized its ongoing role in striking a critical balance between facilitating legitimate trade and enforcing robust security measures.

The statement stressed that combating drug abuse is not solely the responsibility of security forces but requires broad community engagement and effective collaboration among various stakeholders, forming a united front against this menace.

The statement also highlighted the importance of early awareness, psychological and social support for at-risk groups, and the need to foster a safe and supportive environment that steers individuals away from addiction and harmful behavior.
