Kuwait Customs pledges faster processing of shipments amid current conditions

Saleh Al-Omar, Deputy Head of the General Administration of Customs for Ports, Research and Customs Investigation Affairs, reaffirmed on Sunday the authority’s commitment to accelerating the completion of goods transactions, ensuring the smooth flow of shipments, and supporting trade in light of the current circumstances.

His remarks came during an inspection visit to the Nuwaiseeb Customs Port, according to a statement issued by the General Administration of Customs Kuwait.

The visit aimed to review the workflow and monitor the mechanism for the entry of goods and the customs procedures in place to facilitate shipments and speed up transaction processing, reports Al-Rai.

During the tour, Al-Omar met with several male and female employees and received a detailed briefing on daily work procedures and the system used to complete customs transactions.

He praised the staff’s efforts and their commitment to facilitating procedures and supporting trade while maintaining customs’ supervisory responsibilities.

Al-Omar emphasized the importance of continued teamwork to ensure the rapid completion of goods transactions, which helps enhance the smooth movement of shipments and supports commercial activity while safeguarding the country from any illegal materials.

The statement added that Al-Omar reviewed the operational process at the port, including the handling of goods from arrival through to the completion of customs clearance procedures.

He also examined the control measures implemented to ensure shipments comply with applicable regulations and instructions.
