Kuwait credits sharp declines in road deaths and accidents to stringent laws
. . . records sharp decline in traffic violations, accidents, and fatalities in 2025

The General Traffic Department announced today that traffic violations, accidents, and fatalities dropped significantly in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
According to official statistics, traffic violations fell from 1,968,733 in the first half of last year to 1,659,448 this year — a 16% decrease.
Traffic accidents, according to Al-Rai daily, also saw a sharp decline, dropping from 2,511 incidents in the first half of 2024 to 1,383 this year, marking a 45% reduction.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths caused by road accidents decreased from 143 to 94, representing a 34% drop.
The Ministry attributed these positive results to stringent traffic laws, the use of advanced monitoring and control systems, and ongoing public awareness campaigns organized by the General Traffic Department.
