Kuwait cracks down on reckless drivers, seize vehicles hidden at Wafra Farm

Kuwait’s traffic authorities have intensified enforcement against dangerous driving, seizing two vehicles which were hidden on a farm in Al-Wafra and referred the drivers to the Central Prison after investigations linked them to previously documented reckless driving violations.
The operation, conducted by the General Traffic Department’s Security Control Department, began when patrols monitoring the area spotted the two vehicles entering a farm in what appeared to be an attempt to evade detection. Subsequent checks established that both vehicles were wanted in connection with earlier reckless driving incidents recorded on video.
Following coordination with the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, security personnel entered the farm and seized the vehicles. Both drivers were subsequently arrested and admitted to the violations during questioning, according to the Ministry of Interior.
Authorities issued traffic citations for multiple offences, including reckless driving, endangering the lives of others, operating vehicles that produce excessive noise, displaying stickers and writings, and driving without licence plates. The vehicles were impounded under Article 33 bis of the Traffic Law, and the drivers were referred to the Central Prison.
The General Traffic Department reiterated that reckless driving and behaviour threatening the safety of other road users would face strict legal action. It said monitoring and enforcement campaigns would continue to identify violators and hold those endangering public safety accountable.
