Kuwait cracks down on employers ignoring electronic wage transfers
The Federation of Banks discussed improving the wage transfer mechanism through the Ashel for Companies and Ashel for Banks platforms which ensures employers transfer wages accurately and efficiently within the specified deadlines.

• Acting Director General Rabab Al-Osaimi emphasized that banks will implement stricter enforcement measures in the coming period, including halting transactions with employers who fail to comply with electronic wage transfers. She added that this measure is a fundamental pillar in protecting workers’ rights and fostering a fair work environment.
The Public Authority for Manpower held a key meeting with the Federation of Banks to discuss improving the wage transfer mechanism through the Ashel for Companies and Ashel for Banks platforms. The aim is to ensure employers transfer wages accurately and efficiently within the specified deadlines, Al Rai newspaper reported.
The meeting aligns with the authority’s mandate to protect workers’ rights and promote labor market stability. It was chaired by Acting Director General Rabab Al-Osaimi and attended by Fahad Al-Murad, Director of the Inspection Department. Participants reviewed the integrated technical mechanism for submitting employer files to banks, ensuring compliance with approved regulations.
Representatives from the banking sector raised technical comments and challenges, with emphasis on maintaining coordination channels to exchange solutions and overcome obstacles. The Information Systems Center staff delivered a visual presentation detailing the wage system workflow and highlighting the key updates to the Ashel platform for banks, enhancing efficiency and ease of use for employers.
In her speech, Al-Osaimi emphasized that banks will implement stricter enforcement measures in the coming period, including halting transactions with employers who fail to comply with electronic wage transfers. She added that this measure is a fundamental pillar in protecting workers’ rights and fostering a fair work environment.
The authority also recommended that employers submit salary files exclusively through banks, in accordance with approved procedures.
Al-Murad praised the partnership with the banking sector, stressing that the Inspection Department will monitor establishments’ compliance and provide necessary support to ensure smooth implementation of the system, in line with the Authority’s policies aimed at enhancing transparency and safeguarding the labor market.
In conclusion, the authority called for concerted efforts and the development of a genuine partnership with banks to receive and guide employers, ensuring smooth procedures and advancing labor market practices to the highest standards of sustainability, in line with the New Kuwait Vision 2035.
