Kuwait continues to serve as a global symbol of humanitarian work
In 2024 alone, Kuwaiti charity organizations delivered more than $30 million in aid to over 50 countries, benefiting 10 million people in critical sectors such as health, education, food, and clean water reflecting Kuwait’s ongoing role in relief, reconstruction, and sustainable development.

Saad Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the Union of Charity Societies and Endowments, affirmed that Kuwait’s humanitarian work — rooted in the vision of its wise leadership and the generosity of its people — has become a pioneering global model.
He noted that Kuwait today stands as a “global humanitarian center,” a designation confirmed by the United Nations, and a bridge of mercy to people in need around the world.
In a statement issued Monday marking World Humanitarian Day, Al-Otaibi praised the tireless efforts of humanitarian workers who, with compassion and dedication, extend aid to the afflicted across the globe.
Highlighting Kuwait’s broad contributions, Al-Otaibi revealed that in 2024 alone, Kuwaiti charity organizations delivered more than $30 million in aid to over 50 countries, benefiting 10 million people in critical sectors such as health, education, food, and clean water.
These efforts, he said, reflect Kuwait’s ongoing role in relief, reconstruction, and sustainable development, reports Al-Rai daily.
He stressed that the increasing provision of emergency aid during global crises places greater responsibility on Kuwaiti institutions to enhance their tools, strengthen coordination, and build integrated efforts with partners, ensuring that Kuwait continues to serve as a global symbol of humanitarian work.
For its part, Namaa Charity — an affiliate of the Social Reform Society — underscored that World Humanitarian Day is a solemn reminder of the suffering endured by millions due to wars, natural disasters, and economic crises.
It is also, the organization emphasized, an opportunity to renew commitments to alleviating hardship, uplifting vulnerable communities, and promoting human solidarity.
