Kuwait condemns recent Iran drone attacks, warns of threat to regional stability

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the recent drone attacks targeting vital facilities in the country, attributing them to the Iran and its affiliated groups.

In an official statement, Kuwait described the strikes as a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and airspace, as well as a serious breach of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter.

The ministry warned that the continued attacks by Iran and its proxies undermine recent diplomatic efforts, including the ceasefire announced between the United States and Iran, and represent a direct challenge to the international community, reports Al-Rai daily.

Kuwait called for an immediate and unconditional halt to all hostile actions, urging compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817. It reaffirmed its inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and stressed that it will take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.

In a related development, Kuwait also condemned attacks targeting energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, describing them as a dangerous escalation that resulted in casualties and further threatened regional stability.

The ministry expressed Kuwait’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, extending condolences to the victim’s family and wishing a swift recovery to those injured.

For its part, Saudi Arabia issued a strong statement rejecting any aggression against Kuwait, reiterating its full support for Kuwait’s security and sovereignty and calling on Iran and its affiliates to cease all hostile actions and adhere to international resolutions.

Both countries emphasized that such violations risk derailing ongoing international efforts to de-escalate tensions and restore stability across the region.
