The Defense Office at the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait marked the 52nd anniversary of the October 6, 1973 War, honoring the historic cooperation between Kuwait and Egypt and the sacrifices of their martyrs on the Sinai front.

The ceremony was attended by numerous representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Kuwait, reflecting the deep bonds between the two nations.

In his address, Kuwaiti Undersecretary of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Mishaal emphasized that the October victories represent a glorious chapter in Arab history, symbolizing unity and solidarity among Arab nations in facing challenges.

He highlighted the heroic role of the Egyptian army and the collaborative efforts of Arab nations, noting that the sacrifices of Egyptian soldiers strengthened regional security and protected Arab resources. Sheikh Al-Mishaal also underlined the historic fraternal relations between Kuwait and Egypt, which have been nurtured over decades of cooperation, particularly in defense and security.

Colonel Mustafa Al-Dallal, Defense Attaché at the Egyptian Embassy, praised Kuwait’s prominent and honorable contribution to the war. He stated that Kuwait provided the largest number of martyrs among Arab armies participating in both the War of Attrition and the October War, sending its sons to fight alongside Egyptian forces.

“The blood of Kuwaiti and Egyptian martyrs mingled on the pure land of Sinai,” he said, adding that the graves of Kuwaiti soldiers in Egypt remain enduring symbols of their heroism. Colonel Al-Dallal also described the anniversary as a testament to the Egyptian people’s resilience and the historic military achievement that restored both land and dignity.

The ceremony featured artistic and patriotic performances celebrating the spirit of victory and the longstanding relations between the two nations. Father Bigol Anba Bishoy, head of the Egyptian Coptic Church in Kuwait, expressed pride in the shared celebration, emphasizing that the October victories are a source of honor for both Egypt and Kuwait.

“Despite 52 years passing, the October victories remain as vibrant as ever,” he said, recalling the mingling of Kuwaiti and Egyptian blood during the war and celebrating the wide participation of Kuwaitis in the commemorations.

The event underscored the enduring friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect between Egypt and Kuwait, highlighting a legacy of shared sacrifice and regional solidarity.
