Kuwait Civil Aviation activates emergency plan amidst global Microsoft outage

DGCA activates emergency plan to address flight disruptions caused by global Microsoft outage. They reassured passengers and promised timely updates.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in Kuwait has swiftly activated its emergency plan in response to flight disruptions caused by a global Microsoft outage.

The incident, which affected the global system of several international companies this morning, had a direct impact on air traffic control systems at Kuwait International Airport.

As a result of this technical glitch, some flights experienced delays or cancellations, reports Al-Qabas newspaper. However, the DGCA spokesperson, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, assured passengers that the situation is being closely monitored in collaboration with relevant authorities.

He emphasized that the DGCA is working diligently with Kuwait Airways, Jazeera Airways, and other airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport to ensure adherence to necessary guidelines and procedures.

“We assure all passengers that the DGCA is closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with relevant authorities and will provide timely updates as they become available,” Al-Rajhi stated.
