Kuwait-China ties strengthen as delegation advances wastewater project in Beijing

Kuwait’s Ambassador to China, Jassim Al-Najem, reaffirmed on Friday Kuwait’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with China, particularly through the active implementation of signed memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
His statement came during the visit of a Kuwaiti delegation from the Ministry of Public Works to Beijing to oversee progress on the Kabd North Wastewater Treatment Plant project.
Ambassador Al-Najem emphasized that the visit reflects the dedication of Kuwait’s highest political leadership to accelerate the implementation of vital agreements with China.
“The delegation’s visit is part of ongoing efforts to carry out the memorandum of understanding related to this key infrastructure project,” he said.
“The Kuwaiti team inspected wastewater treatment facilities in Beijing and reviewed modern treatment systems and applications of treated water. Meetings were also held with officials to discuss both technical and contractual matters concerning the Kabd North project.”
Ambassador Al-Najem underlined the importance of such reciprocal visits in strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting the exchange of expertise. He noted that Kuwait-China relations have grown significantly in recent years across multiple sectors.
He also commended the role of Chinese companies in supporting Kuwait’s development plans, especially their involvement in major infrastructure and economic projects, underscoring Beijing’s ongoing interest in enhancing ties with Kuwait through practical partnerships.
