Kuwait champions unified Gulf approach to global energy stability
. . . underscores its active role in advancing GCC energy cooperation, preparing the region to address future challenges, and consolidating its position as a reliable partner in stabilizing global energy markets -- demonstrating a sustainable, forward-looking approach based on planning, integration, and foresight.

Kuwait continues to play an active role in strengthening joint Gulf efforts to enhance the readiness of GCC countries in facing future energy challenges.
Sheikha Tamadher Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director of the Public Relations and Petroleum Media Department at the Ministry of Oil, announced the successful completion of a comprehensive update of both the Energy Media Strategy for GCC countries and the Joint Energy Strategy for GCC countries (2012-2030).
The update follows the outcomes of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Gulf Petroleum Ministries meeting held in Kuwait last September, which approved changing the names of the strategies to reflect a shift from a petroleum-focused framework to a broader, integrated energy framework.
Sheikha Tamadher explained that the revision responds to rapid regional and international transformations in the energy sector. The updated strategies now cover multiple energy systems within an integrated concept, while retaining the central role of oil and gas.
They also emphasize energy security, the energy transition, sustainability, and the circular carbon economy, enhancing the GCC’s ability to convey balanced messages that showcase the region’s significance as a major energy producer and a proactive partner in global energy stability.
The Ministry of Oil, through its Public Relations and Petroleum Media Department, implemented the updates with a precise methodology, aligning vision, goals, policies, and implementation mechanisms to the new energy designation.
The revisions aim to integrate Gulf media messaging, correct misconceptions, and highlight common Gulf positions on energy and climate issues.
The update also restructured the general frameworks of both strategies to ensure consistency between strategic directions, executive policies, and media programs. It seeks to raise the efficiency of specialized media performance, improve coordination between GCC petroleum media agencies, and reinforce a unified Gulf media discourse at regional and international forums.
Sheikha Tamadher expressed gratitude to Oil Minister Tariq Al-Roumi for his guidance and direct oversight, noting that the updates reflect Kuwait’s commitment to its leading role in shaping joint Gulf action at both strategic and media levels.
Through this initiative, Kuwait underscores its active role in advancing GCC energy cooperation, preparing the region to address future challenges, and consolidating its position as a reliable partner in stabilizing global energy markets—demonstrating a sustainable, forward-looking approach based on planning, integration, and foresight.
