Kuwait calls for unified Gulf media front to face common challenges
Representatives of security media departments from member states along with several officials and specialists in the field of security media participated in the 19th meeting of the security media departments of GCC interior in Kuwait.

• Brigadier General Nasser Eid Abu Salib, Director General of the General Department of Security Relations and Media, calls for strengthening the security media partnership among GCC states, which will contribute to bolstering both national and regional security.
The 19th meeting of the security media departments of GCC interior ministries began in Kuwait, according to Arabic daily Al Jarida.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Department of Security Relations and Media, in cooperation with the GCC General Secretariat. Brigadier General Nasser Eid Abu Salib, Director General of the General Department of Security Relations and Media, is chairing the meeting.
Representatives of security media departments from member states participated in the meeting, along with several officials and specialists in the field of security media.
Security media has become an integral part of the comprehensive security system
In his address during the meeting, Abu Salib stated that security media has become an integral part of the comprehensive security system, which, through its various sectors and agencies, seeks to maintain safety and stability.
He emphasized that integration and cooperation between media and security institutions is now a pressing necessity to confront common challenges—such as combating crime in all its forms, countering destructive ideologies, and enhancing cybersecurity.
He added that the meeting represents a practical step towards strengthening the security media partnership among GCC states, which will contribute to bolstering both national and regional security.
Abu Salib welcomed the attendees and conveyed the greetings of the senior leadership at the Ministry of Interior, represented by Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf, wishing the meeting every success.
He also extended his appreciation to the GCC General Secretariat for its continued efforts on security-related matters, and thanked Brigadier General Hamad bin AjlanAl Amimi, Assistant Secretary-General for Security Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat, for organizing the meeting.
Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, head of the delegation from the sisterly State of Qatar, congratulated Abu Salib on his promotion to the rank of Major General and wished him further success. He also expressed gratitude to the State of Qatar for managing his previous term.
Unified awareness media plans
The meeting includes discussions on several important topics, including the preparation of unified awareness media plans, the development of communication strategies with the public, combating rumors and misinformation, and evaluating previous media campaigns. It will also explore methods to enhance the use of digital media and modern technologies to disseminate security messages and effectively reach diverse segments of society.
Additionally, the meeting will focus on strengthening cooperation in the training and qualification of security media personnel through specialized programs aimed at improving their efficiency and equipping them with skills to meet emerging challenges in the evolving digital media landscape.
