Kuwait Cabinet holds weekly session, examines H H Amir’s Ramadan speech

The Cabinet held its weekly session on Wednesday at Bayan Palace under chairmanship of the Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.
Following the session, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheridah Al-Mousherji stated that the ministers examined the statement that had been addressed by His Highness the Amir to the citizens on Sunday, marking the last ten days of holy month of Ramadan.
The ministers during the session examined His Highness the Amir’s speech where he expressed hope to witness in the near future distinguished leaps on the path of reforms and construction, along with abundant accomplishments for the homeland and the citizens.
The cabinet statement recalled main points in the Amir’s speech, noting that sedition seekers have been, in tackling the file of the citizenship, to distort facts, promote rumors and mis-phrase statements to drive a wedge in the national ranks, encourage complaints and suspicion in the state decisions in this file.
His Highness the Amir had stressed on the keenness of maintaining balance between firmness regarding the national unity and justice, affirming that dealing with this file would be according to the laws and humanitarian and living requirements.
His Highness had emphasized that the national unity safeguards the homeland in the face of challenges and hardships, pledging to pursue the march toward reforms, bolstering the independence and placing the higher interests of the country above all.
He also vowed to pursue fighting corruption assuring the people that he is following up closely on work of the state apparatuses particularly in the health, teaching and housing sectors.
Citing further excerpts of His Highness the Amir’s Ramadan speech, it noted that he had pledged to combat corruption, resist anybody who tries to undermine security and stability of the homeland or target the citizens’.
His Highness had noted that he was also closely monitoring the drafting of legislations and laws, execution of treaties and memoranda of understanding for attaining strategic partnerships, expressing optimism that Kuwait would witness a bright future and the planned accomplishments would materialize as scheduled to boost economic diversification and financial stability.
He had affirmed that Kuwait would maintain a diplomatic approach in dealing with brotherly and friendly nations as with regard of common causes and that it would maintain its unwavering stand against injustice.
Wisdom warrants sensing how huge the responsibility is, thus everybody is required to hold to the national unity and act in a responsible manner to preserve the homeland security and stability, His Highness had stated. His Highness had warned against wasting time, polarization and disagreements, called for disregarding harmful social media platforms that seek to spread corruption, stressing on the necessity to respect the laws for protecting Kuwait
Meanwhile, the ministers expressed gratitude toward the well guided instructions by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, affirming that they would be implemented, expressing good wishes for Kuwait and His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
They expressed congratulations on the near advent of Al-Fitr Eid to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince and the people of Kuwait.
The Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad welcomed Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Sebeeh Abdulaziz Almukhaizeem on the occasion of his appointment to the post.
For his part, Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Abdullah Alajeel Alaskar briefed the Cabinet about all measures that had been taken by the ministry of commerce and industry regarding the controversial draw during the shopping festival, noting that he had referred the case to the public prosecution, presenting information about some suspicious acts during the draw.
He affirmed the keenness on applying the law through coordination with the security authorities pledging to take all necessary measures to assure consumers.
The Cabinet affirmed support for minister Alaskar regarding the legal measures in this respect stressing on the necessity to enforce the law against any offender.
