Kuwait braces for rainy Tuesday, peak expected in afternoon

Low and medium clouds are continuing to increase, interspersed with thunderstorms accompanied by rain of varying intensity ranging from light to medium, and heavy in some areas.

The Kuwait Meteorological Department expects that the country will continue to experience rainy conditions on Tuesday, reaching its peak in the afternoon. The Director of the Department, Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi, informed the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that low and medium clouds are continuing to increase, interspersed with thunderstorms accompanied by rain of varying intensity ranging from light to medium, and heavy in some areas.

Al-Qarawi added that there is a chance of hailstones falling at times, and wind activity may reach speeds of more than 60 kilometers per hour, causing sea waves to rise to more than 6 feet and reducing horizontal visibility in some areas. It is expected that the weather conditions will gradually improve after midnight, with clouds decreasing and the chances of rain gradually diminishing.

There may be a chance of fog forming in some areas on Wednesday morning, with light to moderate rain returning on Friday morning. He explained that the highest amounts of rain recorded since midnight until now at the monitoring station in the Rabieh area were 16 mm, in Abdali 10 mm, in the Kuwait Airport area 12.2 mm, Al-Salmi 12 mm, and Al-Jahra 4.7 mm.
