Kuwait braces for rain, wind, and poor visibility through Wednesday

Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, has forecast scattered rain showers across the country on Saturday, with some areas likely to experience thunderstorms and strong winds. These conditions may lead to reduced horizontal visibility, dropping to less than 1,000 meters in certain regions.
Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency, he added the thunderstorm, strong winds, and dusty conditions with reduced visibility are expected to persist intermittently through next Wednesday. This period marks a seasonal transition, often characterized by rapid weather fluctuations and instability.
Al-Ali explained the current weather maps indicate the country remains under the influence of a surface low-pressure system, accompanied by a relatively hot and humid air mass. This system is contributing to an increase in low and medium-level cloud cover, occasionally interspersed with cumulus clouds, raising the likelihood of intermittent rain and gusty winds.
Al-Ali urged motorists to drive with caution, particularly on highways, due to poor visibility, and advised beachgoers to be mindful of wave heights exceeding six feet.
He also encouraged citizens and residents to stay updated on the latest forecasts by following the Meteorology Department’s official website, mobile application, and social media channels.
