Kuwait is expected to experience hot and active winds on Wednesday and Thursday, with dust likely to reduce horizontal visibility in some areas, particularly exposed locations, according to the Meteorological Department.
Acting Director of the Meteorological Department Darrar Al-Ali said weather maps and numerical models indicate that Kuwait will be affected by an extension of the Indian monsoon low, accompanied by a hot and dry air mass.
The weather system is expected to bring active northwesterly winds, with speeds exceeding 50 kilometers per hour, raising dust and causing reduced horizontal visibility in some parts of the country.
Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the strong winds will also affect sea conditions, with wave heights expected to rise above six feet. Despite the prevailing hot conditions, maximum temperatures are forecast to see a relative decline, ranging between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius across most areas of Kuwait.
The weather on Wednesday and Thursday is expected to remain hot during the day, with active winds stirring up dust. Conditions will gradually improve in the evening as the dust settles. At night, the weather is expected to turn warm, while the effects of the dusty conditions gradually ease.
Looking ahead to Friday, Al-Ali forecast hot and relatively humid conditions along the coastal areas. Winds on Friday are expected to be light to moderate and southeasterly, with speeds ranging from 8 to 28 kilometers per hour.
Residents, particularly those in exposed areas, are expected to experience reduced visibility during periods of increased dust activity.
