Hot and humid weather will prevail over the next two days as a result of the influence of a hot and humid air mass.
Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the country is expected to experience hot and humid weather with chances of clouds accumulating and scattered rain showers, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, with active winds and fog that will continue until Monday.
Meteorologist Fahad Al-Otaibi expects humidity levels to remain high across the country, but will gradually decrease by the weekend.
Al-Otaibi attributed the high humidity, which reached 100 percent, to the country being affected by a humid air mass laden with water vapor as it crosses the Arabian Gulf. He expects humidity to drop to 10-40 percent next Wednesday.
He noted that Kuwait’s southwestern borders were affected by scattered showers, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, over the past two days. He predicts the temperatures to rise again by the end of the week, reaching a high of 48 degrees.
Al-Otaibi denied any connection between the high humidity at this time and the amount of rainfall expected during the rainy season.
