Kuwait braces for ‘extremely’ hot weather this weekend

The Meteorological Department has forecast extremely hot weather across Kuwait this weekend, both during the day and at night.

According to Department Director Dharar Al-Ali, the country remains under the influence of an extension of the Indian monsoon depression, bringing with it a very hot and relatively dry air mass. Winds are expected to be northwesterly to variable in direction, blowing at light to moderate speeds.

On Thursday, the weather will be very hot with temperatures ranging between 46 and 49 degrees Celsius. Winds will blow at speeds of 8 to 28 kilometers per hour, and scattered clouds may appear. Sea conditions will be light to moderate with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.

During the night, temperatures are expected to remain high, ranging between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius. Winds will be variable northwesterly at speeds between 6 and 26 kilometers per hour, with similar sea conditions.

Friday will continue to see very hot weather, with daytime temperatures again between 46 and 49 degrees Celsius. Winds will range from 8 to 28 kilometers per hour, and the sea will remain light to moderate.

At night, conditions will remain hot, with lows between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius and northwesterly winds blowing at 6 to 26 kilometers per hour.

Saturday is expected to be the hottest day of the weekend, with maximum temperatures climbing to between 47 and 50 degrees Celsius. Winds will be light to moderate, ranging from 8 to 30 kilometers per hour. Wave heights may reach up to 4 feet.

Saturday night will remain hot, with a rise in humidity along coastal areas. Temperatures will range between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius. Winds will continue from the northwest at speeds between 8 and 28 kilometers per hour, with scattered clouds and sea conditions remaining light to moderate.
