Kuwait begins classifying local and Gulf cleaning companies

The Kuwait Municipality stated that “each company will be classified based on its work and capabilities according to new principles and standards.”

The Kuwait Municipality will increase the total contracts from 17 to 19, addressing previous issues after reviewing studies, reports, and observations by the Audit Bureau.

The Kuwait Municipality received requests to classify local and Gulf cleaning companies. Local companies will be categorized into four groups: A, B, C, and D, while Gulf companies will be classified under a single category: A, Al Rai newspaper reported last Sunday.

The sources explained that “each company will be classified based on its work and capabilities according to new principles and standards. The municipality will add two new contracts to the current 17, bringing the total to 19 contracts.”

They added that “the new contracts will address previous issues after reviewing the study submitted by the consulting office, the reports from the municipality’s hygiene committee, and the observations from the Audit Bureau. The municipality aims to establish better contracts than those currently in place by setting high standards, which will be among the best in the region.”

The sources also noted that “the new contracts will cover land and beaches not managed by the Tourism Projects Company, as well as brothels and farms. New equipment will be provided to these areas based on the waste outputs and quantities for each location.”
