Kuwait, Bahrain discuss enhanced social and humanitarian cooperation at UN conference

Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah affirmed Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in social and humanitarian fields, aiming to support shared development goals.
Her remarks came during a meeting with Bahrain’s Minister of Social Development, Osama Al-Alawi, held on the sidelines of the 18th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Huwailah emphasized the importance of uniting efforts and aligning international positions on social development and empowerment of persons with disabilities, in accordance with leading global standards and in support of Gulf Cooperation Council objectives.
The ministers also highlighted the strong fraternal ties between their countries and the need for continued coordination, knowledge-sharing, and the advancement of cooperative and volunteer initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs and member of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, and Minister Plenipotentiary Faisal Al-Enezi, Kuwait’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
