Kuwait arrests duo with 150,000 psychotropic pills, weapons cache

The two defendants—one Kuwaiti and the other an unemployed individual—along with the seized items, have been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.

The Ministry of Interior emphasizes that security services will continue to monitor and protect the community from drug-related dangers.

The General Department for Combating Narcotics and the International Anti-Narcotics Department of the Criminal Security Sector arrested two individuals—one Kuwaiti and the other an unspecified unemployed person—in the desert region of northern Kuwait. They were found with a significant quantity of psychotropic substances, drugs, firearms, and ammunition, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

A thorough inspection of the site revealed 150,000 tablets of psychotropic substances Lyrika and Captagon, a quantity of narcotic cannabis, and four firearms along with ammunition. The defendants and the seized items have been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.

The Ministry of Interior emphasizes that security services will continue to monitor and protect the community from drug-related dangers. It urges everyone to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities immediately via emergency phone 112 or the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics hotline 1884141.
