Kuwait Army hosts high-level meeting to assess nuclear reactor risks

The General Staff of the Army announced the convening of a critical meeting focused on the “National Initiative to Assess the Risks and Damage of Nuclear Reactors to the Country.” The meeting was held in the Hall of Decorations and brought together representatives from both military and key civilian entities.
The discussions covered several vital topics aimed at strengthening national preparedness and resilience in the face of potential nuclear-related threats, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The meeting focused on assessment of national capabilities and potential across essential sectors such as energy, water, and health; review of the preparedness and responsiveness of vital infrastructure and sectors to confront emergency and disaster scenarios.
This is in addition to the evaluation of environmental monitoring plans and response strategies for airborne and maritime crises and examination of civil defense plans and the support and coordination mechanisms among the various state agencies involved.
This meeting falls within the broader framework of enhancing institutional integration and cooperation among government entities and raising the level of national coordination and readiness to address risks stemming from nuclear activities in the region.
