Kuwait and Vietnam sign two key agreements to strengthen strategic partnership

Kuwait and Vietnam signed two significant cooperation agreements on Monday, in the presence of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to deepening their strategic partnership.
The agreements were finalized on the sidelines of an official meeting held at Bayan Palace, co-chaired by the two prime ministers.

The first was a protocol amending the visa-exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports, aimed at facilitating smoother movement for government officials between both nations.
The second agreement was a memorandum of understanding between the Saud Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute in Kuwait and the Vietnamese Diplomatic Academy. It was signed by Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya on behalf of Kuwait and Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung on behalf of Vietnam.
During their meeting, Al-Abdullah and Chinh discussed expanding cooperation frameworks across various sectors to enhance mutual interests.

The talks also covered regional and international developments, with both sides expressing their determination to elevate bilateral relations to new strategic levels and broaden the scope of regular cooperation.
Upon arrival at Bayan Palace, Chinh and his delegation were welcomed with official ceremonies, including the playing of the national anthems.
The Vietnamese premier then greeted senior Kuwaiti officials, including First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sharida Al-Maousherji, Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Abdulaziz Al-Dakhil, and Minister Al-Yahya.
His Highness the Prime Minister later hosted an official luncheon in honor of his Vietnamese counterpart and the accompanying delegation, marking a continued commitment to fostering closer ties between the two friendly nations.
