Kuwait and UAE cricket boards forge stronger ties, set vision for regional growth

It was an absolute honor for Kuwait Cricket to be present at the esteemed Royal Majlis of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan – UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board.

Representing Kuwait Cricket was Mr. Haider Farman, President of the Kuwait Cricket Board, joined by Mr. Sajid Ashraf, Director General of Kuwait Cricket, whose continued efforts have been instrumental in driving Kuwait’s cricketing vision forward at the international level.

Also, in attendance were distinguished cricketing leaders – Mr. Khalid Al Zarooni, Chairman of ILT20, and Mr. Mubashir Usmani, ICC Chair of the Associates & Commissioner of ILT20.

The gathering was a celebration of the deep-rooted and brotherly relations between the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. It reflected a shared vision for the future of cricket in the region – one of unity, opportunity, and exponential growth. With Kuwait recently announced as the first official strategic partner of ILT20 globally, this historic alliance marks a transformational chapter for Kuwaiti cricket — opening up global avenues for our talented players, passionate fanbase, and dynamic corporate stakeholders.

Kuwait Cricket’s commitment to excellence and strategic partnerships, emphasizing the value of collaboration in shaping the cricketing landscape of the region.

The discussions were forward-looking, collaborative, and filled with optimism. Both cricketing boards reiterated their commitment to nurturing grassroots talent, fostering cross-border opportunities, and elevating the Gulf as a premier hub for world-class cricket.

The journey ahead promises exciting milestones — starting with the much-anticipated ILT20 Development Tournament, set to take place in Kuwait in the near future.

Kuwait Cricket extends its sincere gratitude to His Highness and the leadership of the Emirates Cricket Board for their continued trust, warmth, and partnership.

Together, we move forward — one team, one dream.
