Kuwait and Lithuania sign MoU for political consultations

. . . explore cooperation in science, health, and diplomacy

The State of Kuwait and the Republic of Lithuania signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today to establish a framework for regular political consultations between the two nations.

According to a statement by the Kuwaiti Embassy in Germany — shared with the Kuwait News Agency — the MoU was signed in Vilnius by Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Sadiq Marafi, and Lithuanian Deputy Foreign Minister, Audra Plepety.

Following the signing, both delegations held the first round of consultations. The discussions, led by Marafi and Plepety, focused on enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors, particularly economic and investment cooperation aligned with Kuwait’s Vision 2035.

The meeting also explored opportunities for exchanging expertise in scientific research, healthcare, and governance. Regional and international issues were discussed, along with prospects for collaboration within international forums.

The consultations were attended by Reem Al-Khaled, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Germany and non-resident ambassador to Lithuania, and Romanos Davidonis, Lithuania’s Ambassador to the UAE and non-resident ambassador to Kuwait.
