Six countries — Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan — have issued a joint statement condemning Iranian attacks across the region, describing them as a blatant violation of sovereignty, territorial integrity, international law, and the United Nations Charter.
The statement, released by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday evening, denounced attacks carried out by armed factions loyal to Iran from Iraq targeting multiple countries, their facilities, and infrastructure.
The countries stressed that these acts violate Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which demands that Iran immediately and unconditionally halt aggression or threats against its neighbors, including through proxies, reports Al-Rai daily.
While reaffirming their strong fraternal ties with Iraq, the statement called on the Iraqi government to take immediate measures to stop attacks launched by factions, militias, and armed groups from its territory to prevent further escalation and preserve regional relations.
The six states also emphasized their “full and inherent right to self-defense” under Article 51 of the UN Charter, asserting the right to take all necessary measures to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and stability.
The statement further condemned activities by sleeper cells loyal to Iran and terrorist organizations linked to Hezbollah, praising the armed forces and security services of the region for their vigilance, which has helped thwart attacks, dismantle terror cells, and neutralize malicious plans targeting civilians and infrastructure.
