Kuwait and China strengthen strategic partnership to advance mutual interests, broaden cooperation

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received, at Bayan Palace on Sunday morning, in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, Han Zheng, and his accompanying delegation, on the occasion of his official visit to Kuwait.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the strong bilateral relations between their two nations and discussed ways to expand cooperation to serve shared interests. The talks reaffirmed the mutual commitment to consolidating the strategic partnership between Kuwait and China.

The meeting also addressed issues of common concern and reviewed the latest regional and international developments, reports Al-Rai daily.
The reception was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works and Head of the Honorary Delegation Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Director of the Amir’s Office retired Lt. Gen. Jamal Al-Dhiyab, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs at the Amiri Diwan Mazen Al-Essa, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to China Jassim Al-Najem.
Later, His Highness the Crown Prince received Vice President Han Zheng separately. The ceremony began with the national anthems of both countries, followed by an exchange of greetings between the Kuwaiti and Chinese delegations.

Among the Chinese officials in attendance were Wang Changlin, Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission; Xu Zhengguang, Vice Minister of Transport; Chai Jun, Special Envoy on Middle East Affairs; and Yuan Xiaoming, Assistant Minister of Commerce. Han Zheng also met with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs and Head of the Crown Prince’s Diwan Sheikh Thamer Al-Jaber, and Ambassador Al-Najem.
An official round of talks was later held at Bayan Palace, headed by His Highness the Crown Prince and Vice President Han Zheng. The discussions highlighted the deep-rooted historical ties between Kuwait and China and explored avenues to expand cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and infrastructure.

Both sides exchanged views on regional and global developments, reaffirming their shared commitment to dialogue, stability, and mutual respect. The talks took place in a cordial atmosphere that reflected the spirit of friendship and understanding defining Kuwaiti-Chinese relations.
The Kuwaiti delegation included Head of the Crown Prince’s Diwan and Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal and Housing Affairs Abdul Latif Al-Mashari, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy and Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Al-Jaber, and Kuwait Investment Authority Managing Director Sheikh Saud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, along with senior officials.

The Chinese delegation included senior officials Wang Changlin, Xu Zhengguang, Chai Jun, and Yuan Xiaoming.
Following the discussions, His Highness the Crown Prince hosted a luncheon at Bayan Palace in honor of Vice President Han Zheng and his delegation.
As part of his visit, Vice President Han Zheng toured the Al-Salam (Peace) Palace Museum, where he was received by the General Supervisor, Sheikha Mona Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.
The delegation viewed historical exhibits and documents highlighting Kuwait’s heritage and leadership, including the Museum of the History of Kuwait through its Rulers, the Museum of Al-Salam Palace, and the Museum of the Civilizations that Inhabited Kuwait.
Vice President Han Zheng was accompanied during the visit by Minister Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan and Ambassador Jassim Al-Najem.
At the conclusion of his visit, Vice President Han Zheng departed Kuwait and was seen off at the airport by Minister Al-Mashaan, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Samih Jawhar Hayat, and Ambassador Al-Najem.
The visit reaffirmed the shared vision of Kuwait and China to deepen strategic cooperation, enhance mutual prosperity, and build on decades of friendship and partnership between the two countries.
