Kuwait and Canada explore health cooperation, exchange of medical expertise

Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi held talks on Tuesday with Canada’s Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Tara Scheurwater, to discuss ways to expand cooperation and strengthen partnerships in the healthcare sector between the two countries.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Health said the meeting reflected Kuwait’s commitment to reinforcing international relations and developing strategic partnerships in healthcare.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for External Health Services Dr. Hisham Kalender.
The ministry noted that discussions reaffirmed the strong and long-standing ties between Kuwait and Canada, with both sides expressing interest in expanding collaboration to serve shared interests and promote the exchange of medical knowledge and expertise, reports Al-Rai daily..
Key areas of cooperation reviewed during the meeting included exchanging expertise among healthcare professionals, enhancing the training and development of national medical cadres, supporting scientific research, expanding joint research initiatives, and upgrading healthcare infrastructure in line with global standards.
The talks also addressed adopting advanced medical technologies aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare services.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to building effective strategic partnerships with Canada by benefiting from leading international experiences to further strengthen Kuwait’s healthcare system and ensure the delivery of integrated, high-quality medical care aligned with international best practices.
