Kuwait Airways warns of possible flight diversions due to fog

Kuwait Airways has announced that some incoming flights to Kuwait International Airport may be temporarily diverted due to expected fog in several parts of the country.

In a statement posted on its official X account, the airline said that any diversions would be temporary and remain in effect until weather conditions improve and stabilize. If necessary, both arriving and departing flights will be rescheduled accordingly.

The national carrier assured passengers that they will receive updates through the contact details provided on their tickets and expressed appreciation for their understanding and cooperation during these weather-related disruptions.

Passengers are encouraged to ensure their contact information is up to date by calling the customer service center at +965 2434 5555 (extension 171) for international inquiries, reaching out via WhatsApp at +965 2220 0171, or visiting www.kuwaitairways.com.

According to the Meteorological Department, fog formation is expected on Tuesday evening in several areas, particularly along coastal regions and islands.

Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told KUNA that weather maps and models indicate the country is currently under the influence of a high-pressure system extending from the northwest, accompanied by a moderately warm and humid air mass and light to variable northwesterly winds that will shift to southeasterly by Friday.

Al-Ali added that increasing humidity levels from Wednesday onward are likely to lead to dense fog, potentially reducing horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters in some areas.
