Kuwait Airways signs with Zain as official carrier for Gulf Cup ’26
Kuwait Airways signed a strategic partnership agreement with Zain on Wednesday, making the airline the official carrier for the 2026 Gulf Cup, which will be hosted by Kuwait from December 21 to January 3.
In a statement to KUNA, Kuwait Airways Chairman, Abdulmohsen Al-Fagaan said that the partnership offers Kuwait Airways the opportunity to be the official carrier for all people attending the tournament and to provide them with exceptional comfort during their travels.
He further noted that this agreement will enhance Kuwait Airways’ regional presence as the official carrier of Gulf Cup 2026, contributing to the company’s economic growth.
Al-Fagaan also revealed that Kuwait Airways was preparing for the arrival of a new Airbus A330-900 aircraft on December 7, which would be ready for service a week after its arrival, following necessary preparations.
Zain’s CEO Nawaf Al-Gharabally expressed in a press statement that the collaboration would highlight the role of Kuwaiti companies as key partners in shaping the future of Kuwait, in line with the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to always place Kuwait’s interests first.
He added that Zain takes pride in partnering with Kuwait Airways and looks forward to a successful collaboration that reflects their shared commitment to Kuwait’s image.
Al-Gharabally also expressed hope for increased cooperation between the public and private sectors to elevate Kuwait’s name on the international stage.
Zain Kuwait’s Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer, Waleed Al-Khashti told KUNA that the partnership with Kuwait Airways would have a positive impact, and highlighted that all efforts are focused on ensuring the success of Gulf Cup 2026.
Al-Khashti further outlined that Zain would provide various services during the tournament, including distributing SIM cards to visitors, organizing social media contests, and offering tickets to the public at the Zain Fans Zone.
He added that this collaboration with Kuwait Airways would continue throughout the tournament, with daily announcements of competitions, activities, and events in cooperation with Kuwait Airways.
