Kuwait Airways named exclusive ground services provider at Kuwait International Airport

The Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) announced Saturday that ground handling services at Kuwait International Airport have been assigned exclusively to Kuwait Airways, making the national carrier the sole provider for all airlines operating at the airport.

PACA President Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said in a statement to KUNA that the decision aims to support Kuwait Airways in delivering ground services to local, Arab and international carriers. He described the move as a fundamental step toward enhancing passenger services, raising operational efficiency, and qualifying and training national cadres in the aviation sector.

Sheikh Hamoud outlined the Authority’s 20-year vision, which is built on four main pillars. The first focuses on developing and modernizing Kuwait International Airport’s infrastructure to improve operational efficiency and traveler services.

The second pillar centers on strengthening and qualifying national personnel in air transport and civil aviation. The third aims to increase non-oil revenues and bolster financial resources, while the fourth emphasizes knowledge transfer and benefiting from global expertise in airport operations, air navigation and aviation safety.

He praised Kuwait Airways and its operational sectors for taking the lead in providing ground services to all civil aviation companies at the airport starting today, noting that the initiative has now become a reality.

Sheikh Hamoud also expressed deep appreciation for the political leadership — His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah — for their continued support of civil aviation infrastructure projects and service development at the airport.

He commended the close follow-up and support of the Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Sabah, which contributed to the success of aviation projects, and thanked government entities including the Ministry of Interior, the Public Authority for Manpower and the General Administration of Customs for facilitating the project.

Sheikh Hamoud further acknowledged the efforts of PACA officials and employees, and extended thanks to National Aviation Services (NAS), which provided ground handling services at Kuwait Airport alongside Kuwait Airways for 22 years, wishing the company success in its current and future projects.
