Kuwait Airways: Around 2,000 passengers request return to Kuwait amid airspace closure

Kuwait Airways Chairman Abdulmohsen Al-Faqaan said that around 2,000 requests had been received from citizens and residents abroad wishing to return to the country.

In remarks to a media outlet, Al-Faqaan affirmed that Kuwait International Airport is fully ready for operation, noting, however, that it will not be used for the time being due to the current circumstances and the closure of Kuwait’s airspace.

In the coming days, around 1,600 Kuwaiti citizens are expected to return via Saudi Arabia before entering Kuwait by land.

Al-Faqaan noted that the company has not suffered any damage or losses, indicating that most of the stranded passengers in the transit area, estimated at around 1,200 travelers on Kuwait Airways and other airlines, have already departed the country by land to airports in Saudi Arabia. – KUNA
