Kuwait Advances Strategic Storage System to Serve Public Interest
High-level discussions focus on infrastructure development, land management efficiency, and boosting national preparedness
His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah chaired a high-level meeting to discuss enhancing infrastructure and developing a clear roadmap for inventorying and classifying state-owned lands to improve their management and utilisation in line with national development priorities.
During the meeting, officials reviewed key decisions related to granting licenses for the exploitation of state lands, alongside advancing the strategic storage system to serve the public interest and strengthen Kuwait’s readiness to face various challenges.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of improving coordination among government entities to ensure optimal use of land resources and reinforce the country’s logistical and supply capabilities.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdul Latif Al-Mashari, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Commerce and Industry Osama Khaled Boodai, Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, and Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoub Al-Sayed Yousef Al-Rifai.
Also present were Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Acting Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Sheikh Khaled Mohammed Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, Managing Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority Sheikh Saud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Storage Company Hazem Al-Essa.
The meeting underscores the government’s continued focus on strengthening infrastructure, enhancing strategic reserves, and ensuring sustainable development aligned with Kuwait’s long-term economic vision.
