Kuwait advances clean energy plans, enclosures removed in Jahra

The renewable energy project, a large-scale complex combining three technologies, is expected to exceed two gigawatts in capacity and aims to substantially increase Kuwait’s clean energy production.

Kuwait Municipality teams will begin removing enclosures and tents belonging to owners in Jahra Governorate next Sunday, covering 87 square kilometers along Al-Salmi Road. The operation will involve the Violations Removal Department and the Cleaning Department, in coordination with relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Public Authority for Agriculture, and the Ministry of Interior, Al Anba newspaper reported.

The removal is part of preparations for the implementation of a renewable energy project—a large-scale energy complex incorporating three technologies: photovoltaic (PV), concentrated solar power (CSP), and wind energy (WE). The project is expected to exceed a total capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW) and aims to significantly boost the production of clean energy in Kuwait.
