Kuwait accelerates project completion under new policy

Ministers hold field meetings with project stakeholders to speed up progress and remove obstacles, aiming to bypass bureaucratic delays linked to paperwork and communication cycles that waste time and resources.

  • Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, conducted a meeting with authorities overseeing the Kuwait International Airport Building ‘T2’ project, emphasizing the project’s crucial role in the development plan and stressing the importance of its completion.

The government is actively advancing projects under its new policy, focusing particularly on existing ones that are scheduled for completion, according to Al Rai newspaper.

In this context, ministers conduct field meetings with stakeholders responsible for implementing and supervising projects to accelerate progress and eliminate obstacles. These meetings aim to avoid ‘bureaucratic’ delays associated with correspondence and documentation cycles, which consume time and resources with issues like “our book and your book.”

Within this framework, ministerial activities unfolded over the past three days, particularly involving Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs.

She conducted a significant meeting with authorities overseeing the Kuwait International Airport Building ‘T2’ project, emphasizing the project’s crucial role in the development plan and stressing the importance of its completion.

Ahmed Al-Saleh, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works, stated, “The minister’s meeting with the authorities involved in the airport project was important and productive, aimed at identifying potential obstacles that could affect certain aspects of the project in the upcoming period. Many outstanding issues have already been resolved.” He emphasized, “This won’t be the final meeting; such discussions will continue to ensure timely project completion.”

Al-Saleh emphasized the meeting’s significance in assessing the project’s status and overcoming obstacles. He stated, “These meetings are productive and more effective than bureaucratic exchanges. The minister’s approach involves engaging with all stakeholders, whether for the airport project or others, all of which are critical. Therefore, similar meetings will be convened with relevant authorities for all projects under the Ministry of Public Works to address any challenges.”
