Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) signed an agreement on Tuesday with TotalEnergies aimed at supporting the company’s strategic direction, enhancing the value of its assets, and expanding its international presence in oil and gas exploration and production activities.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the Kuwait Oil and Gas Show (KOGS 2026) in the presence of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The framework agreement establishes a strategic partnership with France’s TotalEnergies focused on knowledge exchange, sharing technical expertise, and evaluating opportunities for cooperation across KUFPEC’s global portfolio of projects.

Speaking to KUNA after the signing, KUFPEC Chief Executive Officer Eisa Al-Maraghi said the agreement reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening and expanding strategic partnerships with leading international energy firms. He noted that such collaborations are key to supporting KUFPEC’s long-term growth plans and reinforcing its position in the global energy sector.

In addition, KUFPEC signed a separate strategic partnership agreement with Shell Kuwait Exploration and Production. Al-Maraghi explained that the agreements collectively underscore KUFPEC’s focus on building long-term, value-driven partnerships through structured platforms for cooperation, knowledge transfer, and technical collaboration with major global energy companies.

KUFPEC, a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), is responsible for overseeing Kuwait’s oil and natural gas exploration and production operations outside the State of Kuwait.
