The Kremlin has not ruled out the possibility of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump if both leaders are in Beijing next September.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin will travel to China to participate in ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. However, he noted that Moscow has no information yet about Trump’s attendance.
In related developments, President Putin signed a decree — effective immediately — requiring foreign ships to obtain permission from the Federal Security Service (FSB) before entering Russian ports.
Elsewhere, Israel launched strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen’s Hodeidah port, and a joint statement from 25 countries has called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza.
