KRCS, UNHCR strengthen partnership to support refugee relief efforts

Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Khaled Al-Mughamis, held talks with Nasreen Rabian, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representative in Kuwait, to explore ways to deepen humanitarian cooperation on refugee issues.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Mughamis emphasized the urgent need to build effective partnerships between regional and international organizations to respond to growing humanitarian challenges. He highlighted the importance of creating platforms for dialogue and information sharing to support global relief efforts.
The meeting focused on strengthening joint efforts to support Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and other locations, particularly as global displacement and humanitarian needs continue to rise.
Rabian described the meeting as part of broader efforts to enhance coordination between international and local humanitarian actors.
She praised Kuwait’s longstanding humanitarian role and its collaboration through government entities, NGOs, and charitable foundations, calling it a vital extension of the country’s commitment to global solidarity.
