KPA holds emergency meeting to prioritize food, medicine supply

The Kuwait Ports Authority convened an emergency meeting today chaired by Director General, Sheikh Khaled Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, to assess and coordinate preparations in response to the evolving regional situation.
The meeting included assistant directors, key department heads, a representative from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and members of the Emergency Committee.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Sheikh Khaled affirmed the Authority’s ongoing strategic role in overseeing the nation’s ports — specifically the commercial ports of Shuwaikh, Shuaiba, and Doha — which serve as vital gateways for the import of goods and essential consumer commodities.
Amid rising regional tensions, particularly following the Israeli attack on Iran, Sheikh Khaled emphasized that the Authority is giving top priority to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of food and medicine to the country, thereby supporting Kuwait’s strategic stockpile and national food security.
He assured that the Ports Authority remains fully mobilized and ready to facilitate the efficient flow of critical imports, in coordination with relevant government agencies.
