“Korea Corner” opening ceremony held at GUST University Library
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), jointly held an opening ceremony for the “Korea Corner” in the GUST library.
The ceremony was addressed by, H.E. Mr. Park Chong-suk, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the State of Kuwait, and Professor Bassam Alameddine, President of GUST. The event was also attended by Korean Embassy staff, members of the Korean community in Kuwait, as well as deans, faculties, and students from GUST.
The Korea Corner is an initiative that is fully supported and founded by the Korea Foundation (KF) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.
Across 75 countries, around 120 Korea Corners have served as a gateway for understanding Korean culture in major universities and libraries. They provide Korean items such as books, exhibits, and traditional handicrafts to promote cultural exchange and appreciation.
The ceremony, held shortly after the “2024 Korean Street Food Festival” on November 28th at GUST University, marks another significant step in strengthening the ties between the Korean Embassy and GUST University, and by extension between Kuwait and South Korea.
