. . . more than 5,000 male and female athletes take part in the event

The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) organized a highly successful running race with the participation of more than 5,000 male and female runners of all age groups.

The event was led by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) CEO Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Sabah, KNPC CEO Wadha Ahmed Al-Khatib, along with several senior officials from KPC and its subsidiary oil companies.

The race featured two categories — 10,000 meters, and 5,000 meters, reports Al-Rai daily.

Both races kicked off from Souq Sharq, where the Ministry of Interior oversaw security and supervised the route under well-coordinated arrangements that ensured a smooth and comfortable experience for all runners.

Al-Khatib emphasized that the race is part of the company’s efforts to promote sports as a key pillar of a healthy lifestyle. She noted that KNPC organized the event in conjunction with World Diabetes Day, highlighting the importance of raising health awareness in the community.

KNPC reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility through year-round activities and events, expressing satisfaction with the strong public participation and appreciation for all who contributed to the event’s success.

A number of awareness activities were held on the sidelines of the race, including specialized health pavilions from the Ministry of Health, relevant organizations, and several food companies.

At the conclusion of the event, cash prizes were awarded to the top three male and top three female winners in both race categories. Additional valuable prizes were also distributed to the participants.
