KNET launches new fast-track payment system without bank selection

Upgrade is part of a broader strategy to keep pace with global developments in electronic payment systems

KNET, Kuwait’s national electronic payment gateway, will begin rolling out a major upgrade to its payment mechanism starting tomorrow, introducing a faster and more secure system aligned with global digital payment standards.

As part of its modernization plan, the updated system will remove traditional bank selection menus from the payment interface. Instead, users will directly enter their bank card number, allowing the platform to automatically identify the issuing bank and process transactions more efficiently.

The move is designed to streamline the user experience, reduce processing steps, and enhance the security of digital transactions across Kuwait’s banking network.

KNET stated that the upgrade is part of its broader strategy to keep pace with global developments in electronic payment systems and to expand the flexibility of its platform for future payment solutions and services, reports a local Arabic daily.

The company emphasized that the enhancement reflects its commitment to continuous development of Kuwait’s digital financial infrastructure and improving the performance of its electronic payment gateway used by all local banks.
