KMWA’s ‘Interfaith Iftar Meet’ unites diverse communities in Kuwait
The guests drew parallels between Ramadan fasting practices from 1400 years ago and today’s intermittent fasting practices.
The Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association in Kuwait (KMWA) recently hosted a remarkable ‘Interfaith Iftar Meet,’ which brought together esteemed guests, dignitaries, and members of the interfaith community for an evening of unity and diversity.
The program commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a contemplative tone for the evening. KMWA General Secretary, Atheeq Bayazeed, delivered a heartfelt introduction to the Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association, highlighting its mission and unwavering commitment to the well-being of the community.
The event, held at SIMS Salmiya, was graced by distinguished Guests of Honor from the Kannada Community, such as Dr. Diwakar Chaluvaiah (President IDF Kuwait), Mr. Reaven D’Souza (Executive Managing Editor – Times Kuwait), Mr. Anant Mangalgi (President Kuwait Kannada Koota), Mr. Ramesh Kediyoor (Founder President Mogaveera Association Kuwait), Mr. Naveen V Mascarenhas (President KCWA), Dr. Surendra Naik (Ex-President IDF Kuwait), and Mr. Jafar Sadiq (General Secretary IMA Kuwait), who added prestige and significance to the gathering. All the guests expressed their views on the message of Ramadan and fasting and its significance to health benefits.
The guest of honors were welcomed by the KMWA team, Atheeq Bayazeed, Abdulnaseer Khan, Tanveer Udupi, Irshad Kudroli, Hameem Hamzah and Shakeel Ahmed, who presented them with a flower bouquet.
The guests began with a felicitation speech, highlighting the benefits of fasting and drawing parallels between Ramadan fasting practices that started 1400 years ago and their relevance to today’s intermittent fasting practices. They also emphasized the associated health benefits.
The highlight of the evening was the inspiring speech delivered by renowned motivational speaker Mr. B.S. Sharafuddin, whose words resonated with all attendees, fostering a sense of unity and mutual understanding. He mentioned the revelation of the Quran during the month of Ramadan and its message to the entire humanity, while also highlighting the benefits of fasting.
KMWA President Jameel Ahmed conveyed a vote of thanks and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all Guests of Honor, dignitaries, attendees, volunteers, and participants who contributed to the success of the event. Their participation and support were instrumental in making the “Interfaith Iftar Meet” a memorable and meaningful occasion.
As the evening concluded, a spirit of unity and harmony prevailed, setting the tone for future endeavors and collaborations within the community. The event concluded with dinner.
