KMWA-Kuwait hosts Karnataka Rajyotsava 2025’ celebration

The Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMWA), Kuwait, hosted the Karnataka Rajyotsava 2025 celebration at the ICSK Senior Auditorium in Salmiya on November 28, 2025.

The program brought together Kannadigas from diverse regions and communities of Karnataka, highlighting unity and cultural harmony.

The program commenced with the recitation of the verses from Holy Quran followed by Kannada translation, connecting the audiences with the message of Quran.

Br. Irshad Kudroli delivered an informative introduction of KMWA, its history, community work, and ongoing social contributions among the Karnataka diaspora in Kuwait.

Br. Fahimuddin Shareef formally welcomed all the Guests of Honor to the stage, acknowledging their contributions to the Karnataka community in Kuwait.

All Guests of Honor briefly addressed the audience, sharing their thoughts on the significance of Rajyotsava Day, the heritage of Kannada, and the importance of unity among the Karnataka diaspora living in Kuwait. Their meaningful messages enriched the spirit of the celebration and inspired the community.

The Chief Guest, A.K. Kukkila, Editor of Sanmarga Weekly and recipient of the 2024 Dakshina Kannada District Rajyotsava Award for Journalism, delivered an insightful keynote speech focusing on Karnataka’s heritage, cultural richness, and the importance of fostering harmony within Karnataka and the global Kannada community.

A Quiz session was conducted by Atheeq Bayazeed, featuring interesting questions about Karnataka’s history, culture, language, and heritage. The active participation of the audience added an excitement among the audience.

KMWA President Jameel Ahmed in his concluding address, extended a warm vote of thanks to the chief guest of the event, all the dignitaries, participants and the community members whose graceful presence made the occasion more special for all attending the program.

The guests of honor included Tarendra Shettigar, President – Kuwait Kannada Koota; Dr. Surendra Nayak Kapadi, President – GSB Sabha Kuwait; Yusuf Rasheed, President – KKMA Karnataka Wing; Reavan D’Souza, Executive Managing Editor, The Times Kuwait; Nakre Satishchandra Shetty, President – Bantara Sangha Kuwait and Dr. Diwakar Chaluvaiah, Ex-President – FID-Forum of Indian Doctors Kuwait.

The smooth and dynamic execution of the event reflected the hard work and dedication of the KMWA Core Team and volunteers who contributed selflessly to the success of the event.

Br. Jameel Ahmed also thanked the IMA President, Umar Falahi for his continuous support and guidance towards KMWA’s community initiatives.

KMWA, a subsidiary and regional unit of IMA Kuwait, is a prominent Indian socio-religious organization operating under the patronage of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Kuwait, continues to serve expatriates by organizing events that enhance their spiritual and social well-being.

It looks forward to hosting more impactful programs in the future, catering to the needs of the Indian expatriate community in Kuwait.
