KIA forms new Kuwait Airways Board, names Nasser Al-Roudhan Chairman

The Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) has formed a new board of directors for Kuwait Airways, signaling a stronger focus on corporate governance, operational efficiency and competitiveness as the national carrier enters its next phase of development.
The new board held its first meeting on Sunday and nominated Nasser Al-Roudhan as chairman and Abdulmohsen Al-Mukhaizeem as vice chairman, according to a KIA statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The restructuring follows Decree 77/2026, which provides for the transformation of Kuwait Airways into a fully state-owned shareholding company.
The new board also includes Noor Al-Jassem, Hanan Al-Fares and Mishari Al-Hunaidi and three independent members selected for their specialized experience in aviation and related sectors. They are Enrique Dupuy, Giles Agutter and Ryan van der Eijk.
KIA said the new board was established to support Kuwait Airways’ next stage of development, strengthen governance and leverage specialized expertise to improve the company’s efficiency and enhance its competitive position.
The inclusion of independent aviation specialists gives the board additional sector-specific expertise as Kuwait Airways works to strengthen its business performance and position within the aviation market.
The new governance structure comes as the airline transitions to a fully state-owned shareholding company, placing greater emphasis on professional oversight, efficiency and long-term competitiveness.
