
The Kuwait Fire Force took part in the 58th session of the Executive Council and the third extraordinary session of the General Assembly of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO), held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Participating in the event were member states from around the world.
Kuwait’s delegation was led by Brigadier-General Mohammed Shamsan, KFF Acting Deputy Chief for Administrative and Financial Affairs, along with Major Abdullah Mohammed, the National Liaison Officer, reports Al-Rai daily.
The meetings focused on enhancing international cooperation and coordination in the fields of civil protection and emergency response, while also providing a platform to exchange experiences and best practices in disaster preparedness and crisis management. The discussions aimed at improving global resilience to natural and man-made emergencies through joint efforts.
On the sidelines of the event, the Kuwaiti delegation held a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Kamaladdin Heydarov. The talks explored avenues for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the areas of crisis response, emergency planning, and technical collaboration, reinforcing Kuwait’s commitment to proactive international engagement.
The delegation emphasized Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to advance civil defense capabilities, build strategic partnerships, and contribute to global safety frameworks through active participation in international forums like the ICDO.
